Moving to CO in Jan 07

The desire to go into missions has been on my heart for a long time. Particularly international missions. Particularly Argentina. It's this intense "gnawing" as my grandmother says, that just won't go away no matter what. Over the past few years, I have been keeping an eye out for opportunities, and this week, I received very encouraging news. I applied for a program through the Navigators called Advance. Links to these are on the right. It's basically a missionary training program and involves seminary classes, worldview classes (Perspectives), being discipled and discipling others, adventure trips, and service (work around the Navs headquarters). The whole purpose is to train for the mission field.

The program is now slated to begin in January although it was intended to begin in August. It has been a matter of faith planning to start at all because people apply and then change their minds. There's been ups and downs in the planning process. The director calls it a roller coaster. And that, of course, is my own modifier for my life so it gels with me quite nicely. No one knows exactly what is going to happen or who is going to go or what it will entail in detail. The leaders and hopeful participants are in faith mode right now because the answers are few and far between. But they're there. God is making sure we know Who's in control, and it's definitely not us!

So if in fact, Advance starts in January, I will be moving to Colorado Springs! So exciting! Pray for more laborers!
