Yesterday, the kids' rythm gymnastics competition trumped my English conversation class. The teacher was going to be out, so I was asked to sub for gymnastics practice. They know by now that I can dance and teach dance, so they call on me for these types of things, which I like. I won´t even try to explain what the rythmic gymnastics entails. All the kids participate. Some boys asked me if they do things like this in the States. I didn´t have the heart to tell him many boys in the States would probably rather die first. I really enjoy the fact that all the kids are willing to participate in anything here.
I love to dance, but I had no idea how useful such a passion could be. I have had more opportunities at this school and in other areas of Guatemala through dancing than through anything else! I believe that God gives us the desires of our hearts. The desire itself, not the object of the desire. He gave me a desire for dance, and I am elated to find that it can be used for His glory.
