La Comida

The food my house mom makes is ridiculously delicious. Yesterday, we had little patties that kinda reminded me of eggplant. She told me what it was, but I never could get a grasp of how to pronounce it. Some type of fruit. So good. Another unusual fruit treat here is fried bananas. Love them. Today, it was thick tortillas folded over cheese like quesadillas and cooked just long enough. The senora was very proud that they were just the right crispness. I asked how long it took to prepare a meal like this, and she said it took 2 hours because the tortillas were slowly grilled to perfection. So I took another quesadilla because I wanted her to know it was appreciated.
